about

Prisoner's Cinema is a strange hallucinatory state experienced by inmates undergoing solitary confinement. It is thought to be induced by prolonged sensory deprivation and may be a form of pareidolia - a psychological phenomenon whereby human beings perceive patterns that aren't actually there, when they are presented with continuous random noise or meaningless stimuli. Pareidolia is also considered the main scientific explanation for both ghost sightings and EVP, where faint voices are mistakenly heard in noisy recordings.

This album is an attempt to capture such a hallucination in audio - where the ordinary morphs into the otherworldly, and nothing is quite as it sounds. An attempt to evoke a waking dream projected on to a prison cell wall. Entoptic lights dancing across the ceiling.
