The field recordings that underpin much of this music were originally made as supporting materials for Michael C Coldwell’s ongoing multimodal project on the ‘disappearing city’, a work which seeks to document urban regeneration and degeneration, abandoned buildings and their demolition, in his home town of Leeds. The sound of unrelenting change is evoked in these time-stretched audio landscapes and distant echoes, our faltering memories of what came before, of places now lost.

This EP has been released for free now to help promote CC’s new cassette on Crooked Acres Records, “AM” - and forthcoming live album “Dead Air”, on the same imprint: watch this space for more information!
